Where Red Coral Is Found
Unlike the other Navratna, coral is organic — a marine skeletal deposit, not a mineral. The finest red coral traditionally comes from the Mediterranean Sea (Italy's Sardinia and Sicily coasts, and Tunisia/Algeria); Japan and Taiwan also produce fine deep-sea coral. Due to conservation restrictions on Mediterranean harvesting, much of today's astrological-grade coral is certified old stock or from regulated Pacific sources.
Use
Red Coral is the gemstone of Mangal, Mars — governing courage, energy, siblings, land and property, and physical strength. Worn to strengthen a weak Mars or pacify an aggressive/afflicted one, including for Mangal Dosha considerations.
When to Wear — Kundali & Dasha Guidance
Recommended when Mars's Mahadasha or Antardasha (a shorter 7-year period) is approaching, when Mars is weak or debilitated (Cancer), or for those needing more courage, drive, physical vitality, or property/real estate success.
Day: Tuesday, Shukla Paksha · Time: sunrise · Metal: gold or copper · Finger: ring finger, right hand · Weight: 5–9 carats · Mantra: "Om Angarakaya Namah"
Benefits of Wearing Red Coral
Increased courage, energy, and drive; support in property and land matters; traditionally linked to blood health and physical stamina; helps counter the effects of a poorly-placed Mars.
