Where Turquoise Is Found

Turquoise (known as Firoza in Vedic tradition) forms in arid regions where copper-bearing rock meets groundwater. Iran's Nishapur mines have supplied the world's finest sky-blue turquoise for over a thousand years; the American Southwest (Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico) and Tibet/China are other major historic sources.

Use

Firoza is one of the most established substitutes for Blue Sapphire in Vedic gem therapy, believed to calm Saturn's harsher effects while still offering protection, discipline, and career support.

When to Wear — Kundali & Dasha Guidance

Recommended when Saturn's Mahadasha or Antardasha is approaching, especially during Sade Sati or Dhaiya, as a gentler alternative to Blue Sapphire, or for protection during travel (a traditional use of Firoza).

Day: Saturday · Time: Evening · Metal: Silver · Finger: Middle finger, right hand · Weight: 6–10 carats

General guidance only — a qualified astrologer should confirm suitability against the individual's actual birth chart.

Benefits of Wearing Turquoise

Traditionally worn for protection against accidents and negative energy, support during difficult Saturn transits, career stability, and calmer, more disciplined decision-making.
